Lapu shooting

A 23-YEAR-OLD man was shot and wounded by his neighbor over a personal grudge yesterday morning in barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City.

Riche Gepizo, a resident of the place, was brought to Lapu-Lapu City Hospital after he was hit in his left upper arm.

Police initial investigation revealed that a certain “Japo” shot the victim without any provocation and fled.

Gepito then sought help from barangay tanods, who brought him to the hospital.

Surprise drug test

AT LEAST nine employees including two females of barangay Punta Princesa, Cebu City,  tested positive ifor using illegal drugs during a surprise drug test conducted yesterday.

Eight  were found positive of using shabu while the other was found using marijuana, said Joey Herrera, head of Cebu City Office in Substance Abuse Prevention.

Barangay captain Jose Navarro led the surprise drug test by calling a barangay meeting at the barangay gym. When all are inside, the door was locked and the surprise drug test was announced.

Farmer killed

A 67-YEAR-OLD farmer was shot dead in barangay Candulawan, Talisay City, yesterday.

Brixcio Obsikyas was hit in the forehead.

Police initial investigation revealed the victim was walking at dawn when an unidentified perpetrator shot him and fled.

Estafa

A Korean national  was arrested for estafa charges inside a Korean restaurant last Saturday

Ji-Hyun Yoon was arrested by police armed with an arrest  warrant issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Judge Estela Marie Sinco.

Yi-Hyun’s victim asked the assistance of  the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG-7) after the suspect was sighted in a Korean restaurant in barangay Banilad.
