2 drug suspects killed, cop injured in Olongapo shootout
OLONGAPO CITY — Two drug suspects were killed in a clash with lawmen that also injured a police officer during a Saturday buy-bust operation.
Jayce Teope and Rudolph Cabigting were slain by policemen who gave chase when the suspects sped off in a black Toyota Innova from Barangay (village) East Bajac-Bajac after sensing that they were dealing with undercover police agents.
They fought the policemen after they were cornered near the city’s public market along Rizal Avenue at 8 p.m. The gunfight injured PO2 Arnie Omega, said Insp. Rodel Paragas, police station 1 commander. Omega was shot in the face and was rushed to a hospital here.
Police said an undetermined quantity of alleged shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) was found in the suspects’ vehicle. JE/rga
