SAN ISIDRO, Nueva Ecija, Philippines — A 46-year-old farmer, who was facing charges for raping a 12-year-old girl, was shot dead on Saturday (Sept. 3) by motorcycle-riding gunmen.

Narciso Lopez, Jr. was playing cards with neighbors at a vacant lot in Pilar Subdivision when he was shot several times, said investigator PO3 Marmel de Guzman.

Lopez had posted bail for a multiple rape charge being heard by the Regional Trial Court Branch 34 in Gapan City. He was also in the town’s drug watch list.

Meanwhile, in Carranglan town on Friday (Sept. 2), Jimboy Adra, 25, was shot dead in Sitio Camanggahan, Barangay Piut at 8:20 p.m.

PO2 Merwin Mendez said concerned citizens brought Adra to the Heart of Jesus Hospital in San Jose City but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
