Drug suspect killed in buy-bust; 2 bodies found in Laguna, Batangas

SAN PEDRO CITY, Philippines—An illegal drug suspect was killed in a police buy-bust operation in Tanauan City, Batangas early Friday while two bodies of suspected victims of summary execution were found in Laguna and Batangas.

The Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon (Calabarzon) police, in a consolidated report, said the suspect identified only as “Mac Mac” pulled out his gun and fired at policemen during the buy-bust operation in Barangay (village) 3 around 2 a.m. Friday. The suspect was killed when the police retaliated.

Still in Batangas, a suspected victim of summary execution was found in a sugarcane farm in Barangay Duhatan, Balayan town around 8 a.m. Thursday. The male victim was found hogtied and his face was wrapped with duct tape.

In Calamba City, Laguna, the body of another male victim of summary execution was found 7 a.m. Thursday in Barangay Sirang Lupa. The report said the victim was blindfolded and his hands were tied. The victim also sustained a gunshot wound in his head and body. RAM
