Trillanes vows to go after Duterte, win or lose

Vice presidential candidate Senator Antonio Trillanes IV cast his vote Monday morning in Caloocan City.

Trillanes, wearing an orange polo shirt, arrived at precinct 0687B at the Holy Infant Montessori Center at around 9 a.m. His mother and brothers arrived ahead of him.

“Maganda ang aking pakiramdam, regardless kung ano ang resulta ng election, patuloy ang ating pagsisilbi (I feel good. I will continue to serve regardless of the results of the election),” he said.

The senator also vowed to go after presidential frontrunner Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte regardless of the outcome of the vote.

“Regardless of the results of the elections, magkikita kami at hahabulin ko talaga siya… I will deal with him after the election, hindi ko siya uurungan (Regardless of the elections, I will continue to go after him. I will deal with him after the election, I will not back down),” Trillanes said.

“Igagalang ko ang resulta ng eleksyon pero hindi ako titigil sa pagbabantay sa katiwalian sa bayan (I will respect the result of the elections, but I will not stop going after crooks),” he added.

Trillanes earlier exposed Duterte’s allegedly undeclared assets and billions of pesos worth of transactions in his bank accounts and said he would spearhead the impeachment moves should the tough-talking mayor win the presidency.

He also filed a plunder case against Duterte over alleged ghost employees in Davao.

Trillanes, a cellar-dweller in opinion polls with a single-digit percentage of voter preference, will still be a senator even if he loses in the vice presidential race.

Going into the final stretch of the election period, Duterte maintained his double-digit lead over his rivals in preference surveys. IDL/rga
