1,371 hired on the spot in Central Luzon job fairs
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—At least 1,371 of more than 4,000 applicants in eight Labor Day job fairs in Central Luzon have been hired on the spot, an official of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said on Monday.
Lawyer Ana Dione, DOLE director in Central Luzon, said the hiring rate reached more than 21 percent.
The labor department, local governments, civic groups and private companies held the job fairs in malls, parks, gyms and town halls in the region.
