BREAK: Bilibid officials probe ‘escape’ from maximum prison
The New Bilibid Prison (NBP) is conducting a headcount of inmates of the Maximum Security Compound following the discovery of a rake with rope believed to have been used by an inmate to escape.
NBP Superintendent Richard Schwarskopf, in a text message confirmed that there was a missing inmate.
A source said the inmate identified only as alias “Teteng” was from Dorm 12-B of the Maximum Security Compound. Majority of Dorm 12-B occupants are “cuerna” or no gang affiliation. The source said “Teteng” was a former member of Batman Gang 357.
The source said the inmate tied a rope around the rake and used it to climb the prison wall.
