The Nationalist Peoples’ Coalition (NPC), the second largest political group, has not yet decided whom to support in the 2016 elections, its chairman said on Friday.

NPC chairman and former Isabela Governor Faustino Dy III told this before the mass oath-taking of new members of the party held at the NPC’s Clubhouse in New Manila.

Camarines Sur Representative Rolando Andaya, who was an ally of former President and now detained Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, was among those who took their oath as new members of the party.

“Titingnan natin at pag aaralan ng partido ang posisyon. Sa ngayon ay wala pa tayong posisyon sa kung sino ang susuportahan,” Dy told the party members.

(We will see and the party will study its position. For now, we have yet to decide the party’s position on whom to support.)

“Kaya magsasama-sama tayo oras na meron nang ginawang decision ang executive committee ng partidong ito ay magkakaisa tayong lahat at doon tayo susuporta kung sino man yung pagkakaisahan natin.”

(That’s why let us be together by the time this party’s executive committee has made a decision, let us all unite and let us support whomever we have decided.)

“Maliwanag ba yun? Gusto nyo ba yun? Opo ang sagot dun, opo, opo lagi,” Dy said, an apparent reference to Poe.

(Is that clear? Do you want that? The answer is yes, yes, always yes.)

“Opo Chiz (Yes, Chiz),” he said, and then went on to explain that Escudero used to be part of the NPC when the senator was considering running for president in 2010. Maila Ager/RAM
