8 partylist groups back Poe-Escudero tandem—An Waray chair

At least eight partylist groups are backing the presidential bid of Senator Grace Poe and her running mate, Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero, An Waray Partylist Group chairman Florencio “Bem” Noel disclosed on Friday.

“An Waray Partylist declares [its] support for a Grace-Chiz tandem,” Noel told reporters at a gathering of Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) in New Manila.

Noel earlier resigned as director of the Philippine Sweepstakes Office to hep in the campaign of the two senators.

Aside from his group, Noel said other partylist groups are also expected to announce their support for the two senators in the coming days or weeks.

He named at least seven of these groups and they are the Abang Lingkod, Abe, Ang Nars, BH (Bagong Henerasyon), Anak IP, Abono, and Ako Bicol. Maila Ager/RAM
