Pope: Don’t become slaves to your work

/ 09:01 PM August 12, 2015

Pope Francis urged people on Wednesday not to become “slaves” to work but to take time to rest and spend time with their families.

The pontiff told the faithful at his weekly general audience at the Vatican that “millions of men and women, even children, are slaves to work,” but the modern “obsession with economic profit” which drove them was detrimental to their lives.

Moments of rest, he said, give people time to enjoy the fruits of their labor, urging the world to make the most of religious feast days for that purpose.
