Typhoon ‘Ruby’ heads to Mindoro; Signal No. 2 up in Metro Manila
MANILA, Philippines —Typhoon “Ruby” (international name: Hagupit) has maintained its strength as it heads toward northern Mindoro to make its third landfall on Monday evening, the state weather bureau said on Sunday.
The Philippine Atmospheric and Geophysical Services Administration hoisted Signal No. 3 over Masbate, Ticao Island, Burias, Marinduque, Romblon, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Batangas, Laguna, Cavite, Southern Quezon, Lubang Island.
Signal No. 2 was raised over Calamian Group of Islands, Bulacan, Bataan, rest of Quezon, Rizal, Sorsogon, Albay, Metro Manila, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Semirara Island, Biliran, Aklan, Capiz, Bantayan Island.
Meanwhile, Zambales, Polilio Island,Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Pampanga, Catanduanes, Northern Palawan, Cuyo, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, Leyter, Antique, Guimaras, Negros Occidental, Northern Cebu including Cebu City and Camotes Island were placed under Signal No. 1.

According to its 11 p.m. weather bulletin, Pagasa said that Ruby packs maximum sustained winds of up to 140 kph near its center and gusts of up to 170 kph.
As of 10 p.m., Ruby was located at 70 kilometers northwest of Masbate City, Masbate province.
Ruby is expected to make its third landfall in the vicinity of northern Mindoro on Monday between 6 to 8 p.m. According to Pagasa’s earlier forecast, Ruby was seen making its third landfall on Sibuyan Island in Romblon early Monday.
Pagasa said that the sluggish typhoon is moving in a west northwest direction at 10 kph.
