Did you know: Philippine Statistics Authority
The National Statistics Office (NSO), originally called the Bureau of Census and Statistics, was established through Commonwealth Act 591 which was approved on Aug. 19, 1940. It was created to consolidate statistical activities in the government. On Dec. 29, 2013, the NSO was merged with the National Statistical Coordination Board, Bureau of Labor and Employment Statistics and Bureau of Agricultural Statistics to create the Philippine Statistics Authority by virtue of Republic Act No. 10625, otherwise known as the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013.–Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
