Did you know: Teodoro M. Kalaw

Today, March 31, is the 130th birth anniversary of writer and public servant Teodoro M. Kalaw. Born in 1884, he served as editor of El Renacimiento and a member of the Philippine Assembly. He also served as undersecretary of the Interior. Calle San Luis in Ermita, Manila, the location of the National Library and Museum where he served as director, was renamed in his honor. He died on Dec. 4, 1940.—Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
