MANILA, Philippines—Drunken and distraught for being jobless the last three years, a Korean national jumped to his death from the 24th floor of a residential tower along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (Edsa) in Mandaluyong City early Thursday morning.

Jaek Young Han, 35, jumped off from a G.A. Tower 1 condominium located on the southbound lane of Edsa and across from the Boni Avenue MRT train station, Radyo Inquirer 990 AM reported.

Quoting Han’s girlfriend, who was with the victim prior to his death, the report said Han was drunk when he suddenly threw himself off their unit.

He landed first on the street’s electrical wires and was dismembered in the process.

Media reports said the Korean musician had been depressed for not having projects over the last three years, according to his girlfriend.

The Scene of the Crime Operatives cordoned off the area to conduct an investigation, resulting in a traffic gridlock.

But the Metro Manila Development Authority said in its latest advisory, the area has been cleared by police.

Traffic along Edsa Boni Avenue going to Guadalupe and Magallanes in Makati City has eased.

The report said police were still looking into a possible foul play.
