Ex-Bataan solon Roman dies; 74

MANILA, Philippines—Former Bataan Rep. Antonino Roman passed away due to multiple organ failure Wednesday morning. He was 74.

The wake for Roman would be held at the Mt. Carmel Church in New Manila, Quezon City. His remains will be brought to Bataan on Jan. 11.

Roman was an assemblyman from 1978 to 1986, and served as Bataan representative from 1998 to 2007. His wife, Herminia Roman, is the province’s incumbent representative.

Roman served as the Presidential Legislative Liaison Office Secretary from 2010 to 2012, and was also a Finance Deputy Minister under then Finance Minister Cesar Virata.—Leila B. Salaverria
