SC weighing proposal to hold bar exam in Visayas, Mindanao
MANILA, Philippines – The Supreme Court is already studying the possibility of conducting Bar examinations in the Visayas and Mindanao.
In a one-page resolution released Thursday, the high court has referred to the Committee on Bar examinations the recommendation made by the Office of the Bar Confidant.
The Office of the Bar Confidant made the recommendation after the Sangguniang Panglungsod of Cebu City made the request that a Bar examination be conducted outside of Metro Manila for aspiring lawyers in the Visayas and Mindanao.
“The Court resolved, upon the recommendation of the Office of the Bar Confidant, to refer this matter to the Committee on Bar Examinations for consideration,” the high court said.
Currently, the Bar examination is being conducted every October at the University of Santo Tomas.
The Bar examination is considered the most difficult licensure examination in the country.
