Truck catches fire

A TRUCK carrying chemicals went ablaze while traveling along M. Logarta Street in barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City Tuesday afternoon.

The 47-year-old driver Tiofilo Jario parked the Mitsubishi L300 pick-up when he heard an explosion underneath his seat.

The fire erupted shortly after Jario and the truck boy went out of the vehicle at 1:45 p.m. The vehicle was carrying polylite chemical, fiber mat and hardener at its back.

FO3 Edgar Vergara of the Mandaue City’s Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said electrical short circuit caused the fire.
