MANILA, Philippines—Detained Janet Lim-Napoles, the alleged mastermind of the P10-billion pork barrel scam, is likely to appear at the Senate blue ribbon committee on Thursday, as the committee’s chairman, Sen. Teofisto Guingona III, said the hearing on the alleged scam will push through as scheduled.

“The Senate blue ribbon committee will push through with its November 7 hearing with Ms. Janet Lim-Napoles and the whistle-blowers. The hearing will start at 10:00 a.m,” Guingona  III said  in a text message sent  by a member of his staff.

Guingona issued the statement after Sen. Sergio Osmeña III on Sunday proposed to move the hearing to Nov. 18 since he said many senators are still out of town or out of the country since Congress took a break last week.
