Fire hits basement of GMA Network Center


MANILA, Philippines — A fire hit the basement 2 of GMA Network Center in Timog Avenue, Quezon City Sunday night, DZBB Super Radyo (@dzbb) said on its Twitter account.

“FLASH: Basement 2 ng GMA Network Center, nasusunog lvia,” DZBB said.

As of posting, the fire has been put out, according to GMA News (@gmanews).

“Naapula na ang electrical fire sa Basement 2 ng GMA Network Center na posibleng nagmula sa umano’y nasunog na power station capacitor,” GMA News said in a tweet.

According to reports, power supply was cut off in the whole building, which may have prompted the interruption of airing of GMA shows.

“GMA ADVISORY: We are currently experiencing technical difficulties. We will be back on-air at the soonest possible time,” GMA News said in another tweet. Don Lejano
