QC maid slain in rape try; attack mistaken for lovers’ spat

A teenage housemaid in Quezon City was stabbed dead allegedly by a man who also tried to rape her just outside her employer’s home around midnight Tuesday.

Investigators said Vicky Ramos, a stay-in worker at a house on Golden Shower Street, Barangay Payatas-B, sustained at least 13 stab wounds in the body. Her attacker remained unidentified and at large.

Quoting witnesses, SPO1 Jaime Jimena of the Quezon City Police District Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (QCPD-CIDU) said Ramos had just come from a nearby Internet shop and was knocking on the gate of the house when she was grabbed by a half-naked man.

People at a nearby canteen saw the girl being dragged by the man across the street “but they did not interfere because they thought the man and the girl were a couple just having a quarrel,” Jimena told the Inquirer.

The man was then seen taking the victim toward a passenger jeepney parked on Payatas Road near Golden Shower. The witnesses later heard the girl screaming and rushed to the jeepney.

They found Ramos covered in blood, naked from the waist down and lying on the ground next to the vehicle. The attacker had already fled.
