Columnist found dead in rented QC room

/ 04:02 AM August 21, 2013

A newspaper columnist was found dead inside his rented room on Monday night in Quezon City. Police believe that Ernesto Enrile, 60, died of natural causes and noted that the body was already in the early stages of decomposition. According to a press ID found in the room, Enrile was a columnist in the daily People’s Tonight. Case investigator PO2 Gilmer Marinas said a tenant found Enrile dead at the room he was renting in a house on Bicol Brigade, Barangay Tatalon. Jojie Fernandez passed just outside Enrile’s room around 10 p.m. Monday and picked up a foul smell. He knocked on Enrile’s door but got no response. Fernandez then went outside the house and, through a window, saw Enrile lying face down on the floor. Julie M. Aurelio
