The Cebu Dynamo FC prevailed in the penalty shootout over University of San Carlos Basic Education (USC-BED), 2-0, to bag the Boys Under 11 title of the Cebu Amateur Football Club’s (CAFC) 13th Cebu Inter-Club Football Cup at the Aboitiz Sports Field in Subangdaku, Mandaue City.
The fight for the U11 title went into a penalty shootout after the regulation ended at 1-all.
Cebu Dynamo FC scored the first goal via Shawn Philip Canlas. However, USC-BED forced a penalty shootout when Juan Pablo Fernan also found the back of the net.
In the penalty shootout, Canlas once again gave Cebu Dynamo FC the lead. After USC-BED missed its first chance, they were given a sliver of hope when Chloe Arreglo failed to score for Cebu Dynamo FC on his attempt.
However, USC-BED missed its chance to level the match and eventually lost the title when Cebu Dynamo FC’s James Baring converted his attempt.
Third place went to Canduman which beat Lahug Elementary School, 1-0.
Meanwhile, marching to the semis of the Boys U13 are BRO Nationals who will go up against Talisay Razkals and Phoenix FC who will face Ateneo de Cebu (AdC).
