MANILA, Philippines – Reelected Senator Francis Escudero attended the Commission on Elections (Comelec) proclamation ceremony Thursday evening with girlfriend Heart Evangelista.

When asked which he would prioritize between love and career, Escudero said: “Hiwalay palagi trabaho ko sa personal kong buhay.”

(When it comes to work, I always leave behind my personal life.)
Evangelista, asked how she feels about the proclamation of Escudero said: “I’m so happy for him, masayang masaya ako para sa kanya, congratulations.”

Escudero ranked fourth in the Comelec’s official canvass as of Thursday evening.

“We did our best despite our limited resources,” Escudero said about his campaign.

“Binato rin kami ng napakaraming putik pero malaki yung tiwala ko, at pinakita naman ng sambayanang Pilipino, na yung aming tinatag na serbisyo nung nagdaan labing limang taon ay worth it at hindi dapat tawaran,” Escudero said.

(We’ve been victims of smear campaign but I’ve been confident that the people will not forget the 15 years of service we have rendered.)

Regarding his number four rank, he said that it didn’t matter because the title, salary, and term of all the 12 winning senators are the same.
