Kris Aquino takes a cab sans security aides in Cebu City

CEBU CITY, Philippines—For the love of Cebuanos, President Benigno Aquino’s youngest sister , Kris, bravely took a cab here on Friday without any security escorts.
Kris flew in here early Friday morning to campaign for re-electionist Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero and former MTRB chairperson Grace Poe, who are both running under Aquino’s Team PNoy ticket.
The trio first campaigned in General Santos City Thursday morning and then to Davao City in the afternoon.
And when she arrived in this city straight from Davao , Kris said she took a cab with two companions—her makeup artist and her personal assistant— from the airport to their hotel .
“I came here straight (last night) from Davao. Wala iyong PSG (Presidential Security Guard) ko . Wala rin iyong nagsusundo sa akin. Nag-taxi po ako (There was no PSG. No one fetched me. I took a cab. Yes. Me,” she said at a joint press conference with Escudero, Poe, and some local candidates.)
“Yes I felt so safe. You know why? Parang any other place, hindi ako magdi-dare (I won’t dare) but it’s Cebu, diretso lang naman sa hotel. So ganun ko kamahal ang Cebu at feeling ko naman ganoon ninyo kamahal ang mga Aquino… (just straight to the hotel. So that’s how I love Cebu and I feel that’s how you also love the Aquinos), ” she added.
While on board the cab, Kris said she reminded the driver to vote not only for Escudero and Poe but also for her cousin, Bam Aquino, who is also running for senator under Team PNoy.
“Ipinaalala ko sa kanya (driver) na apart from Chiz and Grace, number 3 ha, Bam Aquino huwag mong kalimutan. Noong omo-oo siya, dinoble ko. Binigyan ko sya ng P1,000 at sinabi ko keep the change,” she said.

Kris said she loves adventures that someday she hopes to do a reality show of her going around the country on her own.
