Abarrientos, Lastimosa lead Alaxan hoop camp

PHILIPPINE Basketball Association (PBA) legends Johnny Abarrientos and Jojo Lastimosa will spearhead today’s second leg of the “Alaxan FR Galing Mo Basketball Camp” to be held in barangay Casuntingan in Mandaue City.

The event is a nationwide basketball camp open to hoop fanatics aged 16 to 21 years. Participants will compete for the five-man team that will represent Cebu in Manila for the final round this April.

The event is also a charity-based project where the visited barangay will be given a chance to have a free basketball camp.

As of yesterday, around a hundred hopefuls enlisted to compete for today’s tournament and training camp.

The winners in the final leg in Manila will be taking home P20,000 each and P100,000 will also be donated to their barangay for future community projects. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
