Duenas places third in hk standard chartered race

CEBU’S JOHN Philip Duenas finished third in the 21-kilometer race of the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2013 yesterday.

The news was relayed to this writer by Mary Joy Tabal, who is coached by Duenas.

Duenas clocked one hour, 13 minutes and 18 seconds to finish third  behind Japanese Koyama Yuta (1:08.38) and Kenyan Thomas Kiprotich (1:11.49).

“I never expected this but I am very thankful to God.  I am so happy for my achievement and I really enjoyed this race a lot because this is my first time and it’s freezing here,” said Duenas in a message to Tabal./CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
