Aquino to lead Team Pnoy in star-studded campaign salvo

MANILA, Philippines — President Benigno Aquino III is expected to join Team Pnoy when it opens its campaign with a star-studded program this Tuesday.
Two celebrity couples — Aga Mulach and wife Charlene Gonzales; and Richard Gomez and wife and Congresswoman Lucy Torres-Gomez — will join the proclamation rally at the Plaza Miranda in Quiapo at 4:00 p.m.
The Mulachs will emcee the program while the Gomezes will endorse the team.
At 4:45 p.m., Senator Franklin Drilon, campaign manager of Team Pnoy, will call the roll of its 12 senatorial candidates.
Aquino is expected to arrive at 4:50 p.m.
Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim will deliver welcome remarks followed by introduction of the first set of candidates and their speeches.
There will be an intermission number before the introduction and speeches of the second set of candidates.
Each candidate is given only eight minutes to deliver their respective speeches.
Aquino is scheduled to deliver his speech at arounf 6:45 p.m. followed by his proclamation of the 12 senatorial bets of his team.
