MANILA, Philippines–The National Bureau of Investigation pinpointed the person who fired the shot that killed 7-year-old Stephanie Nicole Ella in Caloocan City during the New Year revelry, Justice Secretary Leila De Lima said Tuesday.

Saying she cannot share details yet of the NBI investigation, De Lima said the suspect was “someone who is part of a group.”

She did not want to confirm whether this person was among the first group of men who were questioned by policemen after they acknowledged they fired their guns during the height of the New Year celebrations.

She said that the NBI medico-legal office had conducted an autopsy on Stephanie Nicole after her family agreed to it.

The NBI also has a witness on who owned the gun where the fatal shot came from.

Asked whether the NBI would arrest the suspect within the week, De Lima said it was possible.

Do we have any Surveillance cameras or CCTV that can see who´s who are those fired guns between 11:30pm-12:30am (New Year´s Eve) which is within the perimeter when accident happen?

Kailangan right on the money dahil baka makasilip ng technicality o kaya naman para maresolbahan lang ang kaso ay kung sinu-sino na lang ang ipapakulong! Managot ang dapat managot at habang buhay ang sentensiya!

Pinpoint should be very specific, i.e., including the identity. In this case everything looks dark.

Arrest within a week means they are still not sure. They were very fast in detaining and filing charges to the first suspect, this one needs a week. Probably on holidays abroad.

the investigators looked for a possible suspect that does not have any political connection or financial clout in order to minimise any complications in its prosecution…

ay sa wakas, sana naman di na maka takas pa itong suspect.
baka naman mamaya nasa ibang bansa na ito .. :(

Arrest without warrant na naman ito.  On the mere say so of the justice secretary.  there is no such thing as a rule of law.  mag preliminary investigation muna kayo.  that is the rule of law

They have pinpointed the suspect but then De Lima says he is someone who is part of a group?!! She can not get any more specific than that!!!

He must also be someone who has eyes, hands and a brain that he knew that he was going to fire a bullet up in the air. Am I correct?
