Tsunami warning from Mexico to Peru after Pacific quake

WASHINGTON—A 7.9 magnitude earthquake off the Pacific coast of Costa Rica on Wednesday triggered a tsunami warning from Mexico to Peru, US authorities said.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala and Peru were under a tsunami warning, and a tsunami watch was in effect for Chile.
