Japanese nabbed for illegal drugs

A 53-YEAR-OLD Japanese national was arrested after packs of suspected shabu were found in his rented apartment in barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City.

Police rushed to Kimstons Apartment in Englis V. Rama Street after Nakahigashi Kiyoshi’s Filipina live-in partner complained that she was mauled by the Japanese last Friday afternoon.

The woman is six months pregnant.

The Japanese was not at home when police arrived.

Chief Insp. Enrique Balceña, chief of the Guadalupe police station, said they stayed in the apartment until the Japanese arrived.

Police said the Japanese went straight to his room.

Balceña said they followed the Japanese in his room and allegedly caught him sniffing shabu.

Kiyoshi denied mauling the woman.

But police said the woman had injuries in the abdomen as a result of mauling based on a medical report.

Police said the Japanese will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9262 or Violence Against Women and Children Act of 2004 and for possession of illegal drugs./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
