CQCU FC routs Laos FC
DAN Marnel Villarico climbed to the second spot in the top goalscorer contest after Cebu Queen City United Football Club (CQCU FC) scored a 6-1 victory against Laos FC in the second round of the United Football League Second Division Tournament yesterday at the University of Makati.
Villarico scored two of CQCU’s six goals and now has a total of 17 goals to take over the second spot from Romnick Jover of the Sunken Garden United FC, who has 16 goals so far.
Laos FC drew first blood with Rolly Lear finding the back of the net at the 21st minute.
Villarico scored the equalizer four minutes later with Ariel Cahilig giving the CQCU FC the lead at the 44th minute.
Villarico made it 3-1 just two minutes into the second half.
The rest CQCU’s goals were scored by Junard Aguilar in the 67th minute, Rommel Cuizon in the 81st minute and Benedict Luis Arriola in the 89th minute.
CQCU FC solidified its hold of the third spot with 39 points with a win-draw-loss record of 12-3-3. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
