Hiker dies from Batulao Mountain fall

BATANGAS CITY, Philippines — A 27-year-old restaurant manager died when she fell from Peak 8 of Mount Batulao in Nasugbu, Batangas,  police said Thursday.

Diana Fajardo, manager of the Tokyo Tokyo restaurant at the SM mall in Taytay,  Rizal, was hiking with a group of five  friends on Mt. Batulao Wednesday when she fell and plunged 250 feet down the mountain, according to Superintendent Renato Mercado, Nasugbu police chief.

Fajardo was taking pictures when she lost her balance and fell, landing on a rocky area about 250 feet below, Mercado said.

Fajardo died on the spot from severe multiple head and body injuries, according to Fajardo.
