Cold front, wind convergence to bring rains—Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines – A diffused tail-end of a cold front affecting Southern Luzon and a wind convergence, or a weather system wherein two winds from two directions merge in a certain area, in Mindanao are seen to bring scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Monday.

“Southern Luzon, Eastern Visayas and Mindanao will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms becoming cloudy with widespread rains over the western and southern section of Mindanao which may trigger flashfloods and landslides,” the forecast said.

Meanwhile, it also said the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains while the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

“Moderate to occasionally strong winds blowing from the Northeast and East will prevail over Southern Luzon and coming from the Northeast over the rest of Luzon. The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to occasionally rough,” Pagasa said.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the East to Northeast with slight to moderate seas.
