Fisherman drowns in Pangasinan river

DAGUPAN CITY —— A fisherman was found dead on Thursday night along Lingayen town’s Agno River in Pangasinan province, police said on Friday.

Mario Zacarias, 59, drowned when he fell into the river after an asthma attack, police said.

Zacarias went to the river to fish on Wednesday evening, according to his relatives. He was expected to return home Thursday morning.

Police said Zacarias’ wife began to worry and informed their relatives when her husband failed to return home on Thursday afternoon.

At 6 p.m., Zacarias’ body was found floating on a lagoon along the Agno River.
