PNP chief orders alleged Arroyo slay plot probed
MANILA, Philippines— Philippine National Police Chief Nicanor Bartolome has ordered the Southern Police District to investigate an alleged plot to assassinate former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
In a press conference at the Camp Crame Thursday, Bartolome said the “Oplan Put the Little Girl to Sleep” revealed by Arroyo’s spokesperson Elena Bautista-Horn would be investigated even as some sectors were simply laughing off the claim.
Bartolome admitted he just learned of the supposed slay plot from a news report Wednesday evening, adding that the PNP has yet to receive details of the alleged assassination plot.
He said that it would be of help if Horn would name her source so that police could go directly to the person to investigate.
