Heavy rainfall expected in Metro Manila, 14 other areas on June 11

MANILA, Philippines — Heavy rainfall is expected in Metro Manila and 14 other areas on Wednesday, June 11, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Below is the list of areas that will experience downpour, based on Pagasa’s 5 a.m. weather advisory:
Heavy to intense (100-200 mm)
- Zambales
- Bataan
- Occidental Mindoro
Moderate to Heavy (50-100 mm)
- Metro Manila
- Pangasinan
- Cavite
- Batangas
- Palawan
- Camarines Sur
Catanduanes
- Albay
- Sorsogon
- Antique
- Northern Samar
- Eastern Samar
“Forecast rainfall may be higher in mountainous and elevated areas. Moreover, impacts in some areas may be worsened by significant antecedent rainfall,” Pagasa said.
Pagasa also explained that a weather advisory covers 24 hours but is issued only at the provincial level and “provides a broader outlook on potential weather disturbances, though it lacks the short-term accuracy of heavy rainfall warnings.”/mcm
