Girl in viral ‘Kiki Dance Challenge’ on Edsa apologizes to MMDA exec
The girl who did the “Kiki Dance Challenge” along Edsa has personally apologized to Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Spokesperson Celine Pialago.
Pialago told INQUIRER.net that the girl went to her office around 11 a.m. Friday to say sorry for what she did.
Pialago also confirmed that the girl in the viral video was Micha Anne Gabuten. She also said that Gabuten promised to pay the penalties for her traffic violations.
“Babayaran daw po nila lahat ng violation. At humihingi po sila ng paumanhin at sana humupa na daw po ang pangba-bash,” Pialago said in a text message.
Gabuten will have to pay a P500-fine for jaywalking. The driver of the vehicle, meanwhile, will have to pay a total of P650 for reckless driving and obstruction.
Article continues after this advertisementPialago also noted that the one who took the video of Gabutan dancing was a co-passenger who was at the backseat of the car.
Article continues after this advertisementAs told to her by Gabuten, Pialago said the controversial incident took place around 11 a.m. last August 1 along the southbound section of Edsa-Kamuning flyover.
A video of Gabuten dancing to the beat of international rapper Drake’s song titled “In My Feelings” on a major thoroughfare went viral on social media.

Gabuten has since taken down the video, which was originally posted in her Youtube account. She also deactivated her other social media accounts following the viral video. /kga
