Landslides feared as rain persists in northern Luzon

Rainy weather is expected over parts of Northern and Central Luzon due to the southwest monsoon, the state weather bureau said Monday.

Flooding and landslides due to scattered moderate to heavy rain are seen over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Batanes, Babuyan group of islands, Zambales and Bataan, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

The rest of Central Luzon and of Cagayan Valley Region will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.

Localized thunderstorms are expected over Metro Manila and the rest of  the country. /cbb
