Drug suspect slain in Valenzuela police ops

An alleged drug suspect was killed by members of the Valenzuela City Police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Friday night after a buy-bust operation that led to a shootout.

Suspect Joselito Toquero was killed after a drug bust along MacArthur Highway in Barangay Malinta, according to a police report on Saturday.

Authorities said Toquero opened fire after sensing his buyer was a police officer. Police retaliated which led to the encounter that killed the suspect.

Authorities said the suspect was rushed to the Valenzuela Medical Center but was declared dead on arrival. No one was hurt from the agents, said the report.

Recovered from the scene were a caliber .45 pistol, two live bullets, six spent shells, eight sachets of suspected shabu, and an open sachet with traces of suspected shabu.

Also found from his possession were a power bank housing, belt bag, P530 worth of cash, matchbox, aluminum foil, stainless blade, earwax cleaner, and a cigarette stick.
