Jojo Binay back to ‘first love;’ now a ‘terror prof’ — mayor

Former Vice President Jejomar “Jojo” Binay has reunited with his “first love” and is now again teaching law, according to his daughter Makati Mayor Abigail Binay.

“He’s back to his first love, which is teaching and being a lawyer,” the Makati executive said on Wednesday, during a forum at Malate, Manila.

The mayor said her father, whom she hinted was a terror professor, was focused on managing the law school of the University of Makati.

“My dad now is busy with the school of law. We recently opened a school of law in the University of Makati, so siya ay nagtuturo ngayon, nagte-terrorize ng law students,” she said in jest.

“Dati naman nagtuturo talaga siya.  He used to teach in PWU (Philippine Women’s University), in St. Scholastica,” she added.

She also said that when the former vice president lost in the 2016 elections, it was also some sort of retirement from public office.

“After 2016, he kind of retired,” she claimed.

That year, the Binay patriarch ran for president against eventual winner Rodrigo Duterte, Liberal Party’s former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, independent candidate Grace Poe, and late former Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago.

He initially led pre-election polls, but his bid was affected by allegations of corruption and ill-gotten wealth.  Cases against him, his wife Elenita and son Junjun are pending before the Sandiganbayan. /cbb
