3 Valenzuela cops held for ‘kotong’ targeting junk shops

/ 05:15 AM August 02, 2018

Three Valenzuela City policemen and a civilian have been arrested for allegedly extorting money from junk shop owners in Barangay Ugong.

The four were identified as SPO4 Serafin Adante, PO1 Rey Harvey Florano, PO1 Ryan Paul Antimaro—all assigned at Precinct 8—and Amado Baldon Jr. Members of the Philippine National Police’s Counterintelligence Task Force (PNP-CITF) conducted an entrapment operation that targeted the suspects on Mindanao Avenue, Barangay Ugong, on Tuesday night.

This was after the PNP-CITF received a tip that the four were extorting around P200 to P500 each from junk shop owners in the area. —Aie Balagtas See
