Pagasa spots LPA east of Mindanao

 The state weather agency is tracking a low pressure area (LPA) east of Mindanao.

The LPA was last spotted 715 kilometers east of Surigao del Norte, according to the weather bulletin issued Friday by the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Meanwhile, the agency said Metro Manila, Bulacan, Pampanga, Surigao del Norter, Surigao del Sur, Compostela Valley will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms this Friday.

Pagasa said the southwest monsoon continues to affect the western portion of the country.

Monsoon rains are expected over Western Visayas, Palawan, Mindoro, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite and Batangas, Pagasa said.   /kga
