Duterte makes unannounced stopover in Cebu

CEBU CITY — President Rodrigo Duterte made a short stopover in Cebu on Thursday night, Supt. Artemio Ricabo, deputy director for administration of Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), said.

The President flew to Cebu from Bohol where he gave a keynote speech during the 25th national convention of the Vice Mayors League of the Philippines (VMLP).

Ricabo said Mr. Duterte attended a wedding at Cebu Grand Convention Center in this city, and graced an activity organized by Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go.

The President was with Go during the Sapatos Tsinelas Ka-Swap held also in the convention center, where he gave shoes to selected indigents in Metro Cebu.

According to Ricabo, this Cebu layover of Mr. Duterte was unannounced and that members of the media were not allowed to interview him.

Based on the information provided by Armed Forces of the Philippines Central Command, Duterte left their headquarters at 9:25 p.m. and returned to Manila.   /kga
