Defective train upsets LRT-2 service on Independence Day
The Light Rail Transit line 2 (LRT-2) was placed under a provisional service on Tuesday morning.
In an advisory, the LRT-2 management said their operations became limited as of 9:19 a.m. due to a defective train, which affected the train service for almost the entire stretch of LRT-2, from Anonas to Recto stations and vice versa.

Normal operations, however, resumed around 10 a.m., the LRT-2 management said.
The LRT-2 has 11 stations namely: Recto, Legarda, Pureza, V. Mapa, J. Ruiz, Gilmore, Betty-Go Belmonte, Araneta Center-Cubao, Anonas, Katipunan, and Santolan.
On Monday, the LRT-2 management also stopped their operations for 36 minutes due to “power supply problem.”

The public was given free rides at LRT-2 from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday in celebration of the Philippine Independence Day. /kga
