Man drowns in Caloocan City creek amid heavy rain

A senior citizen died while crossing a creek in Caloocan City at the height of downpour on Monday afternoon, police said.

The victim identified as Agaton Acuba, 68, drowned while crossing Sapang Alat creek at Barangay 181 at Pangarap Village at around 1 p.m. Monday, according to police.

Police said Acuba disappeared after being swept away by the strong current. He was found dead hours later along the banks of Sampaguita Street in Barangay 185.

The victim was subsequently brought to Jeanne Funeral Homes. /kga
