3 drug suspects killed in shootout with QC police

/ 05:02 AM June 11, 2018

Three people, two of them known only by their aliases, were killed by Quezon City police in an alleged shootout during an entrapment operation.

Heavy rains brought by Severe Tropical Storm “Domeng” on Saturday night did not deter the buy-bust operation that left Antonio dela Cruz and two other men identified only as Jayson Umali and Badjok dead.

Senior Insp. Edward Cantano, chief of the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Quezon City Police District, told the Inquirer that Dela Cruz was identified through a voter’s ID card found on him.

The police said the alleged firefight took place around 8:30 p.m. on Hazer Street in Balara Filter Area at Barangay Pansol.

Recovered from the suspects were three .38-caliber revolvers, seven sachets of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) and five sachets with suspected marijuana leaves. Jhesset O. Enano
