5 teens nabbed for stoning passenger bus in Pangasinan
DAGUPAN CITY — For stoning a passenger bus, five high school students in Santa Barbara town at Pangasinan province were arrested on Friday night (June 8), police said.
The teens aged 14 to 17 years old, now in police custody, would be charged with malicious mischief, according to Santa Barbara police investigator PO2 Augusto Cesar Magnaan.
The Metro Manila-bound Five Star bus was traversing the Urdaneta-Dagupan road at 9:30 p.m. when stones hurled by the students broke three of its right side windows.
No passenger was hurt in the incident.
Magnaan said the companions of the five students tried to stop them but the teenagers did not listen.
About 20 stoning incidents have been reported in different parts of the province this year, according to police records. GABRIEL CARDINOZ
