Civil registrar shot dead in Isabela City

ZAMBOANGA CITY – The Local Civil Registrar of Isabela City was shot dead around 9 a.m. Thursday.

Superintendent Restituto Pangusban, Isabela City police chief, identified the victim as Jordan Guerrero Juaini, a resident of Barangay San Rafael in Isabela City.

Pangusban said initial investigation showed that Juaini was back riding on his motorbike, which was being driven by Basser Abdullah, when attacked by a motorcycle-riding suspect along Rojas Avenue in Barangay Eastside in Isabela City.

Juaini, who was hit in the neck, was rushed to the Bascom Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physicians. Julie Alipala/lb
