Steel bridge in Pampanga nearly collapses from weight of 4 trucks

/ 04:55 PM November 23, 2011

MANILA, Philippines—Three dump trucks loaded with gravel were trapped in a steel bridge in Pampanga Wednesday morning after it almost gave way due to their heavy weight.

Central Luzon police director Chief Superintendent Edgardo Ladao said that the 41-year-old Colgante Bridge in Apalit, Pampanga, almost broke down after four dump trucks in convoy passed over it around 10:15 a.m.

“The first truck was able to pass through, but the three others weren’t able to make it. No one was reported hurt, though,” Ladao said.
