Bus driver, conductor killed in Ecija

SAN ISIDRO, NUEVA ECIJA – A bus driver and his conductor were killed inside their parked bus in Barangay (village) Poblacion here on Thursday night, police said.

The gunman, described as 5 foot 5 inches in height, boarded the bus at 11 p.m. and shot driver Alvin Samson, 36, and his 46-year-old conductor Jaime Amurao.

The suspect fled on board a Nissan Sentra compact car, police said.

Amurao was declared dead on arrival at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Gapan City. Samson died while undergoing treatment.

Forensic investigators recovered seven empty shells fired from a cal. 45 pistol inside the bus.

Investigators are searching for leads by probing the two victim’s alleged history as substance abusers. ARMAND GALANG
